Mr. Edmund Thrift is truly a pillar of the Bacon County community. For 29 years, he dedicated his career to the Bacon County School System, serving faithfully at Bacon County Middle School and touching the lives of countless students. Beyond the classroom, he has pastored at Shady Grove Baptist Church for more than 36 years, leading with faith, humility, and compassion.
Mr. Thrift is married to his wife, Robin, and together they have three sons and two grandchildren. He is an avid supporter of FFA, enjoys working in the garden each spring, and was honored as the Alma Lions Club Citizen of the Year in 2023. Following his retirement, he looks forward to traveling—but for now, he continues to serve and inspire those around him.
