BCHS administration will be honoring one teacher with the Rising Star Award quarterly. The recipient of this award is a teacher with less than five years in the field of education who shines bright with enthusiasm and determination. BCHS administration is proud to announce that the next Rising Star Award recipient for this quarter is Mrs. Jessye Raye Copeland!
She was selected for the following reasons:
According to Brad Taylor, "A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning." This month’s rising star recipient embodies just that. This teacher shows exceptional dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to this profession. She shows genuine care for her students and they want to work hard for her. She works with her co-teacher to revise and refine her teaching approach. She makes extraordinary efforts to create meaningful lessons that are not only tailored to meet the needs of her students, but also to challenge them and push them outside of their comfort zone.
Despite facing challenges in her own life, she continues to shine brightly in the classroom and beyond. This teacher has an humble atttitude, but is also a leader. She has shown leadership by attending conferences and workshops and then effectively redelivering this material to her department and co-teachers. She is always willing to collaborate with her peers in order to give her students the best possible learning experience.
She has taken on the added responsibility of coaching young athletes, which is a job all on its own. She has worked hard with these athletes, and her commitment to coaching and mentoring them beyond academics showcases her passion for the overall student growth.
