Coach Sky Kaeck Chosen as February Heart of Service Recipient

Coach Sky Kaeck has been selected as the February Heart of Service Award recipient by Mr. Brent Johnson (January recipient). Mr. Johnson said the following about why he chose Kaeck:

I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the positive impact this person has had on his students which in turn impacts our school community. I have seen and heard about the relationships that he builds with his students…(of which I feel is the single most important piece of the puzzle to be a successful educator.) And there seems to be some “proof in the pudding” because his test scores actually show it.

This person is not only a dedicated educator but also a role model specifically for young men. His genuine care and enthusiasm for teaching are evident in his engaging lessons and unwavering support for student success. He creates a welcoming classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to excel.
Beyond his role as a teacher, he is actively involved in extracurricular activities, serving as the assistant varsity baseball coach where he continues to positively impact our students. He also moonlights as a play-by-play commentator for away varsity football games on BCTV’s Red Raider broadcasting on the NFHS Network.
His passion for sports extends beyond the baseball field, as he enjoys playing golf (if that's what you call it) and staying active by religiously getting his workouts in. These workouts pay great dividends in allowing him to perform toe touches and various other acrobatic events in his classroom for his students. However, he still can’t beat a 48-year-old man with a dad bod in arm wrestling (or golf for that matter).

He is a huge Georgia Bulldog and Braves fan, BUT, what truly sets him apart is his unique passion for professional wrestling (that's right WWE). He is often referred to as “Cold Stone Kaeck”.
In conclusion, this hometown fellow is an invaluable asset to Bacon County High School, and his contributions greatly enhance the educational and life lesson experiences for our students. And because of this, I have selected Sky Kaeck as this month's recipient of the Heart of Service Award.
