Mr. Jordan McGuire Selected as March Heart of Service Award Recipient

Mrs. Angela McLean has selected Mr. Jordan McGuire as the March Heart of Service Award recipient. Mrs. McLean said this about why she chose him:

Most of you know, my heart has recently been out of  rhythm but, luckily my ears have stayed tuned in.  Because for my Heart of Service Nominee I wanted to tap into the frequency and wavelength of our students. I try to listen to all the conversations bubbling at once between the kids in class.

This month's recipient is a person whom many of those conversations are about. There is excitement, laughter and genuine interest entwined in every conversation  I have heard.  That type of enthusiasm  is rare among today’s students.

The Heart of Service Award is for someone who is devoted to his/her organization and has a willingness to to serve others.  My choice is someone I believe unequivocally meets those standards.

According to his students, he does a great job making un-enticing material,  intriguing and applying it to  real life.  He is truly a great teacher who is devoted to helping his students in any way .  His class is structured to replicate real-life workplace competition while also creating a fun filled learning environment. In addition he never  hesitates to have serious talks that extend beyond the classroom.  During these talks, he teaches the importance of character, integrity and hard-work.

He graduated from BCHS and holds a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree  from Valdosta State University.  He has been teaching at BCHS his entire career beginning in 2012.  During his tenure here, he has been selected as STAR teacher three times.  He was also the Bacon County District Teacher of the Year for 2022.

It is with great pleasure that I pass the  Heart of Service Award to Mr. Jordan McGuire.
